Check this out from You Are The Temple...

John Krhin posted this on the You Are The Temple site:

"God's will is something that every believer must be concerned about. After all, Jesus was very specific as to how we should pray, "...Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Yet, every believer struggles at times with the question, "Am I in God's will?" Praying is one thing. Experiencing is another.
King David is one example in Scripture where God's will "happened" in a seemingly purposeful way. Whether succeeding (chosen from among his brothers, defeating Goliath, escaping Saul's schemes) or failing (immorality, murder, numbering Israel), God's will continued marching on...in and through David. We know that David's heart after God was central to God demonstrating His mercy. But more that that, it pleased God to fulfill His promises...a seed (Jesus the son of David) that would bruise the serpent's head ...the tabernacle of David as a type of the church.
Apparently, God's will is not so much dependent on our performance but rather on our willingness to yield to His purpose. What is His purpose at this point in your life? Writing to the Ephesians, Paul states it generally. "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will, that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ." Ephesians 1:11-12 Particularly, our prayer (Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven) will cause us to yield to His purpose. "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ...may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power." Ephesians 1:17-19
Receive this word today. The Lord would say to you, "Do not let the enemy trap you based on your success or failure. You are predestined. You are chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world. Your faith has caused you to be accepted in the Beloved. You have been sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. You have been raised up and made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. As you have yielded to God's will, again yield through prayer. God's will is marching on...in and through you. Yield to him! You have been reserved by God for this time to demonstrate his glory as part of his church. Do not underestimate your role! Connect to others who are yielding to his will. Identify those who are yielding rather than pursuing their own agendas. Connect with them. This is how and where God's will is being done!"

What is with this verse?

I have heard this a couple times today from different sources!

"Daily Bible Verse for Wednesday, September 22

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:15-19 KJV "

Twice... not nice!

Well, the church that I go to got broken into again! REALLY! We don't live in a crime infested area... at least I don't think so...

?

Well this time the thieves took all of our sound equipment. I think it is time to get some sort of security system... or a really big dog!

Then again... someone might come and steal those too!

Sorry if I sound a bit cynical, but it is a bit frustrating.

Will he ever update this blog??

So, it has been a week and a half since I updated the blog. I have just had so much going on... blah, blah, blah...

Just the same old excuses. You know how it goes.

We have 8 days left to finish up the work at the church. Funny how you work so long on something that it doesn't seem like it will ever end. Then it comes down to the final 8 days, and it is suddenly it doesn't seem like enough time! I will be glad to have it done though.

It was my wife's birthday on Monday (9/6). We had a pretty good day. We went on a picnic with my family, and went shopping. Then we got a movie and spent the evening at home.

Last night we had someone new come to our cell group. I enjoy the conversations that go on in that group so much, and I am learning a ton. I almost wish we could have it every night!

Last night we discussed the "Passion of the Christ", which just came out on video. One person in the group just watched it the night before, and they had a lot of questions about it. The crux of the conversation landed on why Jesus did what he did. It was His choice to do it. It came down to Hebrews 12:2 where it says, "..for the joy that was set before Him..."(emphasis mine). Think about that for a second.....

That joy is you and me!

It's almost time to vote!

It's almost time to vote, and of course the highlighted political race this year is the one for President. I have a hard time getting into all the political excitement stuff, but I do know who I will vote for.

I watched both parties' conventions on TV, and I have to say that of all the speakers, George Bush impressed me the most. His speach was excellent! I think he is definately the guy to vote for.

I included a little newswire box from the Bush website in case you are interested.

If you are in the U.S., make sure you get out an vote!
